York site acquired for 228 apartments

Helios and JV Partners Artium have acquired a site in the centre of York with planning permission for 228 apartments. The site is next to the Barbican Theatre and was formerly the City’s swimming pool. Work on the new scheme will begin in early 2027 and Caddick Construction have been appointed as Contractor. 

The apartments will be available to rent with 20% of them being offered at a discounted market rent. Demand is expected to be high given the lack of similar stock in the City. Architects are GWPA and QS/Project Manager is RBA Associates.
