Helios announces £46m forward funding deal for new Leeds Aparthotel

Helios together with JV parters Marrico have agreed a forward funding deal with Aberdeen Asset Management on behalf of Borders to Coast for a 200 bed hotel at Lisbon Street in Leeds. The hotel will be leased to Room2 and built by Caddick Construction. Work will commence in June with completion in early 2028. This is the joint venture’s second hotel development in the City following completion of the 300 bed Hyatt Hotel at Sovereign Square last year. Speaking about the latest scheme Development Director Natalie Lever said: ‘We have been working with Room2 for some time to perfect the layout for their hotel in Leeds and are delighted that Aberdeen have once more decided to partner with us. The hotel will feature an extensive F&B offering and will offer both long and short term stays. Particular emphasis has been placed on the environmentally conscious aspects of the design in keeping with the Room2 ethos and we are delighted to have achieved BREAM excellent status’. 

The hotel sits on Phase 2 of the Lisbon Street scheme following the completion of a student accommodation block last year.
